Desert Land Escapes was founded in 1998 by Thomas Ehmer. Tom, who had studied landscape architecture in college got side tracked by careers as a flight attendant, a well known Salt Lake City caterer and interior designer. In 1997 he moved from Park City, Utah to Moab, Utah buying a piece of property, designing and building his own home. Tom truly believes that good design principles apply whether staging a house, an ice table buffet for hundreds of guests or the landscape around your property.

With the move to Moab and his background in landscape architecture Desert Land Escapes was born. Tom and many of his staff have extensive backgrounds in art and horticultre. We have an extensive knowledge of native and xeric plants, and how a landscape can reflect the beauty that surrounds us. Desert Land Escapes is entering it's 9th year in Moab, and during that time we have designed and installed landscapes for some of the finest homes, numerous commercial and desert re-vegetation projects in the Moab, Utah area.
